Attention Parents!
Face-to-Face Sessions
This school year we have been dealing with a lot of changes. Most counties are sticking with virtual learning for the third 9 weeks or longer because of COVID-19 risks to students, staff, and families. Online assignments are being graded and there are expectations that students must meet whether we return to face-to-face or remain virtual. We all wish schools were "back to normal" because we know most students learn best face-to-face. That's why we offer in-person tutoring options. For the safety of students and staff, please follow the same guidelines when meeting with our tutors - wear a mask, wash hands, and avoid touching your face.

I am a National Board Certified, licensed teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. I taught in the classroom for Wilson County Schools for 15 years before I began Education Exchange in July 2015. I have returned to my home school in the last couple of years to serve as the Interventionist for grades K-5. My goal is to help all children, families, and teachers with educational needs within our community and beyond.

We know that learning is easier when you have an experienced elementary, middle, or high school teacher working with your child. Our licensed instructors are passionate about the subjects they teach and work hard to help every child succeed. Students will grow academically and get the confidence they need to become independent learners.

Feel free to call anytime to discuss our tutoring services or other educational questions you may have. Our tutoring hours are by appointment only. Because we have lots of tutors, we can work around your specific scheduling needs. We meet our in-person students for sessions at the Upper Coastal Plain Business Center located in downtown Wilson on the corner of Nash and Pine Streets, at the Main Public Library, or locations agreed upon by parents and tutors.
Getting Started
First, we assess each student to find their strengths and weaknesses. Assessments are free for students that are signed up to begin our tutoring program. Afterwards we match your child with one of our qualified tutors to help them with their needs. All policies are explained in the beginning paperwork. A prepayment is required prior to the first session. Prepayments can be done online or over the phone. Sessions are conducted online, at our office at the UCPBC, or at the public library.
Parents - We can help you too!
Once your child's assessment is completed we offer suggestions and share resources for you to use to help your child learn and grow. You can sign up as a student as well - learn a new language, improve your computer skills, improve your writing skills, the list goes on and on! Our motto - Never Stop Learning!

Research Based Reading Intervention
Research Based Reading Intervention
Research Based Reading Intervention
We have several tutors that are HillRAP trained teachers. HillRAP is a research based intervention developed by the Hill Center of Durham, NC. We use that program, along with other research based programs, to conduct your child's reading assessment prior to entering the tutoring program. Let us help your child unlock the code of Reading.
Discounts for Siblings

We are proud to say that our tutors are licensed, experienced educators. Sometimes it may be difficult for some families to afford their expertise. As a result, we now have non-licensed tutors available for sessions. These tutors are Education majors, currently working in an Education field, or are experienced in a particular subject area. Do you have a specialty and feel you would make a great tutor - give us a call to see if you can become part of our team.

What kinds of items do you sell?
Currently we are not selling or consigning items. If you have items you no longer need and want them to go to teachers, homeschoolers, or families that can use them, just let me know. This includes children's books, teacher resources, math manipulatives, classroom decor, homeschool curriculum, organizational items, pocket charts, furniture, .... anything that can be used in an educational setting. We look forward to giving your items a new home!

What kinds of items do you sell?
Anyone can contact me about items they have to give away. As long as I can see an EDUCATIONAL purpose to them and they are in good condition, I will be glad to help you. I have to be a little picky about the things I collect since I currently do not have a store space. I know I can find a school, teachers, or a homeschool group that will be happy to take your items as donations. Don't throw things away - call me first!

You can post your items on my Education Exchange Swap and Shop Facebook page. You just ask to join and start selling. This page is for selling items, NOT services. Any posts that are not related to educational items will be removed and you will be banned from the group. This is a great opportunity to earn some cash for items you no longer need as well as find great deals on items you're looking for your classroom!
