I am a National Board Certified, licensed teacher with almost 20 years of teaching experience. I worked for Wilson County Schools for 15 years before I began Education Exchange in July 2015. I have returned to my home school to serve as the Interventionist for grades 2-5. My goal is to help all children, families, and teachers with educational needs within our community and beyond.
We know that learning is easier when you have an experienced teacher/tutor as your guide. Whether it is in a small group or one-on-one tutoring session, our licensed instructors are passionate about the subjects they teach and work hard to help every child succeed. Students will grow academically and get the confidence they need to become independent learners.
After completing some basic paperwork and some basic assessing, your child can start. We match your child with a qualified tutor to help them with their needs. All policies are explained in the beginning paperwork. A prepayment is required prior to the first session. Prepayments can be done in person, online, or over the phone.
We offer enrichment classes, workshops, and activities for learners of all ages - children and adults. In the past we have had classes for painting, sign language, ADHD, Kindergarten Bootcamp, Lego Robotics and even learning to play the ukulele! We have currently partnered with Wilson Escapes to do escape room activities. Our motto - Never Stop Learning!
We have one-on-one and small group sessions using HillRAP trained teachers. HillRAP is a research based intervention developed by the Hill Center of Durham, NC. Let us help your child unlock the code of Reading.
If you have more than one child that needs tutoring, we offer sibling discounts of 25%. Also, multiple sessions booked within the same week receive a 10% discount on the 2nd day and 15% discount on the 3rd day.
We sell LOTS more than just books. We have children's books, teacher resources, math manipulatives, classroom decor, homeschool curriculum, organizational items, pocket charts, .... New items come in all the time so stop by frequently to catch them before they disappear!
Anyone can consign their items as long as they are EDUCATIONAL and in good condition. I have to be a little picky about the things I consign since store space is limited. Even if I can't sell it for you, I can find a school or homeschool group that will be happy to take your items as donations. Don't throw things away - call me first!
You can price your items for consignment or I can price them for you based on condition and current researched price. Once items are priced, they remain in the store for 3 months. After 3 months, you can come take back your items or donate them towards our Tutoring Scholarship Fund. You'll receive your portion of the sales at the end of the 3 month period.
These coding sessions can be scheduled as one-on-one or small group. Taught by Megan Oteri of Brick Scholars, her love for STEAM and Legos brings the world of robotics and engineering to your child. Contact us to schedule this unique opportunity.
